CALLING ALL CLOWNS!!
The Salem Art Fair & Festival Children's Parade wants YOU!
. . . to parade with thousands (of little feet, that is)!
The Salem Art Association proudly presents the 69th annual Salem Art Fair & Festival July 20-22 at picturesque Bush's Pasture Park just south of downtown Salem.
Kicking off the Art Fair at 9:30am on Friday, July 20 is the Art Fair Children's Parade, a colorfully costumed 1-mile stroll of hundreds of children, parents, bands, youth agencies, and community volunteers. Clowns are needed to be ‘merry facilitators’ to help keep the parade moving and entertain parade viewers and parade participants along the way.
There are complimentary Art Fair passes for you to join in the fun throughout the weekend. The Salem Art Fair & Festival, which draws about 30,000 visitors each year, is set among historic oak trees and features a 200-booth Artist Marketplace, live entertainment and performances on two stages, hands-on art making activities for kids, demonstrations of traditional arts, a cultural corridor, and 25 food booths.
If you're interested, parade clowns gather by 9:00 a.m. on Friday July 20 at the SW corner of Bush's Pasture Park, across from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The parade starts at 9:30 a.m. (Google ‘High St SE and Leffelle St SE, Salem OR 97302’ or for a map go to http://tinyurl.com/SalemArtFairChildrensParade.)
