Met a young — but very accomplished — artist today on clown doctor rounds in PEDS.
His very detailed and creative renderings of all shapes and sizes of monsters were plastered all over the board in the hallway. When I entered his room, I recognized his name from that on the monster drawings, and asked him if he was that artist.
He said yes, so we had a nice chat about art and monsters. Dr. Fowlbreath needn’t worry because his monsters stalked larger, wilder prey.
He was heading home tonight — he hoped — so I made a going home rose from a flag napkin, with 4th of July coming up next week. That impressed him.
My Going Home Song did not.
Before I left, he did a crayon portrait of Dr. Fun E. Bone, which I added to the artwork gallery in the hallway.
Glad he didn’t put a monster twist on it.
